Hockey was one of the ten sports selected for the inaugural Games in
1970, and continues to be a staple in today’s Games. Contingencies
are allowed to send a maximum of one male midget team, one male bantam
team, and one junior women’s team. We are expecting over 260 hockey
players at the 2008 Artic Winter Games, with teams coming from Alaska,
Northern Alberta, Yukon, Nunavut, and NWT.
