Volunteer

Volunteer for AWG 2008 Volunteers are at the heart of every Arctic Winter Games. We welcome you to join as a volunteer for the 20th Anniversary of the Arctic Winter Games March 9 to 15, 2008 in Yellowknife, NWT. We have numerous opportunities for you to become involved leading up to, during and after the Games.

To host this legacy event, we estimate we will require 2,500 volunteers! It is a great way to meet new friends and share in the community spirit. Please click the attachment below for informationon on becoming a volunteer.

IMPORTANT

On Sunday, March 16th, we will require as much help as we can get to dismantle and remove athlete beds from the Athletes' Villages in the following schools:

Range Lake North School

NJ MacPherson School

William McDonald School

Ecole St. Joseph School

Ecole Alain St. Cyr

Mildred Hall School

Sir John Franklin School

Weledeh Catholic School/Ecole St. Patrick School

We would like to assemble large teams at every school in order to complete this task in the shortest amount of time. Start time will be 9:00 am on Sunday. If you have the following supplies, it would be great if you could bring them with you: Rubber mallet or hammer and work gloves. Remember to dress in layers and fill your water bottle. Please phone 767-2008 and press "2" followed by "7" to speak to our volunteer who will assign you to a location and team for dismantling athletes' residences.
